Health & Safety

Court and Tribunals are becoming increasingly hazardous environments in which to work. The levels of violence to staff, repetitive strain injuries caused by increased computer use and stress have all increased over the past few years. The PCS MoJ Group has a network of trade union safety reps and wishes to extend this network to cover every MCC and workplace. Union safety reps have statutory rights to TUC approved training, to inspect the workplace and investigate accidents. PCS also gives support and advice to safety reps and branch officers.

PCS is involved in developing national guidance on safety through the MoJ health and safety committee and PCS is also involved in health and safety committees at HMCS, Regional and Area level and within the PGO, Tribunal Service and HQ areas.

Below is the Health and Safety library which contains all documents which relate to health and safety. If you wish to receive health and safety email alerts click on "edit your preferences" in the top right hand corner of the page to register.
